PECASE AWARD

On July 26, 2006, the White House honored Professor McCall as one of 20 NSF-supported researchers to receive the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). This award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on scientists and engineers in the early stage of their independent careers. Awardees were chosen from 380 assistant professors who received NSF CAREER awards in 2005.
McCall was cited "for bridging the chemical and astronomical sciences with integrated research in laboratory spectroscopy combined with astronomical observation of molecular ions, and for introducing the field of astrochemistry to a new generation of scientists."
